What a fantastic two days at Farmer2Farmer 2017!! Thank you to all who attended, supported, sponsored and promoted the Farm Tour and Conference! We couldn’t have asked for a greater gathering of ideas, networking, skill-sharing, inquiry, and, of course, good food and drink!! With many returning faces in the audience and a wave of new ones, the Farmer2Farmer conference yet again highlighted the growing strength of our Island’s farming community.

CRFAIR has also embarked on an annual data collection survey of local farmers to gain more insight into progress towards meeting our Good Food Network goals of 25% of food grown/consumed locally by 2025. CRFAIR and the Good Food Network have recently embarked on the GoodFood2025 initiative with clear food security, food literary and local food economy targets. 25% of our food to be grown and produced locally by 2025 is one of these targets. Farmer2Farmer is one of the many steps towards achieving this goal, not only in the Capital Region, but throughout Vancouver Island and farther. . . . in fact, it’s a step towards taking that goal even further.
